Igor

Igor has been tattooing certainly for the longest time of all of us, because for over 25 years. He worked in one of the first studios – „As Pik”. In the time when I started to show an interest in the area of tattoo, at the Warsaw stage (of course if there was such stage in that time) he was the most distinct figure with his studio on the tower at the Poniatowski bridge. The studio gathered motorcycle lovers – Igor is one of them. For me when I was tattooing him has been always an enormous stress: paranoiac, copyist, paying attention on each detail. It was a pressure to tattoo somebody who got such a great talent and drawing capabilities.

Years passed. Igor was appearing and disappearing in my life. Roughly, by the two and a half year break, at the end of 2006 Igor appeared in our studio. Impressed with what we had created, he came up with a question: whether there could be place for him to work ?

I am very different than Igor: beyond age difference, we have totally different perspective on the issue concerning tattoo, since 1992 he has had specified his own style and he perceives tattoo always as a faithful copy of the existing image. I thought that we would not be able to work together. I am glad that I was wrong. During this very difficult and intensive first year, his attitude to tattoo has changed. A paranoid care for details became an advantage and Igor domesticate for good in Juniorink Studio.
